NICA was founded in 2019 by the creative sister duo Nika and Carolina.
The idea was to move away from fast fashion, towards the creation of unique handbags by using only left-over fabrics. Each bag is intended to be collected thoughtfully and treasured over seasons and years to come.
OUR SUSTAINABLE APPROACH
By utilizing leftover fabrics, we reduce waste and minimize the environmental footprint of the interior designindustry.
We believe in the power of sustainability to shape a better future.
At NicasConcept, our love extends beyond fashion; it's a commitment to our planet Earth.
With a deep-rooted commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility, we're pioneering eco-friendly practices, ethical sourcing, and a transparent supply chain.
We believe that fashion should not come at the expense of our planet or its inhabitants. That's why we're dedicated to reimagining the fashion industry and reshaping the way brands operate.
Pioneering Eco-Friendly Practices:
From our design process to our production methods, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We're constantly exploring innovative ways to minimize our environmental footprint, whether it's through upcycling materials, reducing waste, or implementing renewable energy solutions. By pioneering eco-friendly practices, we're paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
Every bag we create is meticulously handmade by skilled artisans who share our passion for craftsmanship. We value the artistry and expertise that goes into each piece, ensuring that every stitch and detail is carefully executed. By championing handmade craftsmanship, we not only support traditional techniques but also promote fair labor practices and the preservation of artisanal skills.
NICA TEAM MEMBERS
Our Team consists of us two sisters, our social media manager, our ads manager, our production manager- our master who makes the bags, and our seamstress ladies that make all the stitching.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Our workers have a safe working environment and all of them are getting fairly paid.
We try to make an positive impact on the local communities, by showing them to minimize waste and how to use left-over materials before throwing them away.
We work with left-over fabrics only. Each bag we create is unique, no two pieces are identical making- them truly one-of-a-kind.
Since we depend only on waste, there is no CO2 Emssions related to the production of the fabrics.
OUR ADD ON MATERIALS
Our chains and zippers are sourced at the market of Istanbul. We are still looking for ways to also recycle our chains, but have not found the perfect solution yet.
GOALS FOR 2024 AND ONWARDS
Our top priority is to showcase that sustainability and style are not mutually exclusive. We're currently dedicated to producing our sustainability report, which involves being transparent about our operations and practices.
Additionally, we're actively taking steps to minimize our carbon footprint by implementing strategies to reduce CO2 emissions across our operations. This commitment underscores our belief that fashion can be both eco-conscious and trendy.
